Joe Ely, a member of the Texas band The Flatlanders, played a solo set with Joel Guzman at the Tribeca R&R Club in NYC and I was fortunate enough to be there to capture the moment. Joe Ely rocks.

Willie Nelson and friends held the 22nd Farm Aid Festival in New York City's Randall's Island this year. It was a warm, beautiful night in September and Willie and friends put on quite a show. I put these clips together for the folks that were there and would like to relive the memories as well as for those who couldn't make it and wish they had. Look for more to come in the next few days.
Kinky Friedman performed a long overdue concert in New York City on September 1, 2008 at BB King Blues Club. The show was great - music and comedy all rolled into one wonderful night. Kinky was joined on stage by best mates Ratso and Little Jewford. Look for more video over the next few days.

Because they have never played with Jenny, JDG and Rob seemed a little bit tentative instrumentally. It was still a good show. JDG doesn't know how to do a bad show.

Joe Ely at the Texas Folklife Festival in Washington DC surprised and delighted the crowd who'd waited hours to see him on a hot, stormy night by performing Bo Didley's 'Not Fade Away'. Performing with him are Joel Guzman and Lloyd Maines.
The Folklife Festival in Washington, DC featured the music and dance of two different cultures. Here for your viewing pleasure is a little taste of each. From the beautifully costumed young Bhutan dancers to the multi-cutural dancers of West Texas, the festival proved that music and dance unite us all.

The Flatlanders full version of Midnight Train at the Bowery Ballroom NYC. Although the audio is not the best, i love it for the great guitar work as well as the energy between the band and audience.
An Allman Brothers compilation video from Farm Aid 2007 at NYC Randall's Island. The crowd was great, the farmers were selling home grown food and the band played on. Check out the guy in the crowd with his pants half-way down his skinny behind. Whassup with that!? But it was a great night and we all had a 'bloody good time'!
