In Mark Kermode's review of Iron Man (see YouTube user kermodeandmayo) he did some impressions of the main characters in Iron Man. I thought they were pretty convincing. Here's an edited summary using scenes from the trailer.
Having never seen them before, I watch the Bourne films in turn and briefly review each one, then take a look at the overall effect they create. Notably overused words: "Interesting" and "Brilliant", which is kind of a review in itself.
1st, 2nd and 3rd impressions of the story in Eastern Promises. Contains one mild spoiler, but one that is I think important to know in order to decide whether or not you should see this film. Also featuring: a random jacket and an impromptu deranged stare.
1st, 2nd and 3rd impressions of Hellboy II, having just seen the first one a couple of days earlier. Also featuring a random passerby saying something incomprehensible.
1st 2nd and 3rd impressions of the story in Disturbia, with bonus 4th bit when I found out something else. Also featuring: a dog and a subliminal message.
1st, 2nd and 3rd impressions of the story of Day Watch - I was lucky enough to catch a preview of the subbed version. Special feature: night-vision! I knew a suitable film would come up for me to use it in eventually.
After wrestling with Flash and YouTube I think I've finally managed to make a video that will work.
Fairly fast CC^12 set to music - enjoy!
Music used:
Sasasan Katamari from the Katamari Damacy OST
Burns Attack by Paul Oakenfold
-Rubyspoon (distilling as Spy)
1st impression, positives and negatives of the story in Hitman. In retrospect I am now wondering if it really only works if you've played the game, which I haven't.
I review the story of Spiderman 3 in 3 parts. I had a lot more to say, but I try to keep these things down to three sub-30-second sections. Also featuring Luke's one-line review/rant!
1st, 2nd and 3rd impressions of the story in Jumper, using devastatingly appropriate jump-cuts. In the 3rd segment, please replace "why" with "the way they".
1st, 2nd and 3rd impressions from watching Kung Fu Panda on an IMAX screen. Other than the rating at the end I don't think I succeeded in conveying how much I actually enjoyed the movie, weirdly. No annotations this week as I need to go to bed an hour ago already.
My 1st and all-important 2nd impressions of City of Ember. For those wondering, I haven't reviewed any films for a month because a) I've been too busy to watch any and b) they were all rubbish anyway. My camera actually broke while filming this review (the second part is filmed with a camcorder). This is awesomely appropriate for the film.
1st, 2nd and 3rd impressions of the Studio Ghibli adaptation of the Earthsea stories. The cinema happens to be right next to a supermarket so that's why the first part is filmed there.
Sorry about the audio quality, my camera seems to be losing it a bit.
